Chief minister Jagadish Shettar on Friday said that the KJP leaders were indulging in character assassination of BJP leaders.

Speaking to the media while campaigning for Belur BJP candidate E H Lakshman on Friday, he said that the KJP leaders had made false accusations against former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda and him running a chit business.

“The allegations of KJP leader Vijaya Sankeshwar against Gowda are baseless. KJP leaders are trying to besmirch the reputations of BJP leaders,” he alleged.

Recalling allegations of KJP leader Dhananjay Kumar against senior BJP leader L K Advani, he said that the KJP should stop making such baseless allegations.

He said that former chief minister B S Yeddurappa was responsible for developmental works in the State as per 2008 election manifesto of BJP, and it was not his sole achievement.
After offering puja at Chennakeshava Temple, the CM campaigned for BJP candidate of the constituency and went on a road show.
