“When you go to any hotel in Gandhinagar, you will find the real appreciation for stars among the waiters. They literally  worship them and, come Friday morning, they will have a series of excuses to bunk work and go for a movie. This is where my inspiration came from,” says Udaya.

One of the main highlights of the film is the song Appu Andre Appune, where the protagonist Yogesh, popularly known as Loose Mada, dances in praise of Puneeth, alongside clippings of the movies Puneeth has worked in. “I don’t think there has been any other living star, who has had a song picturised on him. We actually wanted Puneeth to also come in a special role playing himself, but it could not happen. So, we used clippings of movies he has worked in,” adds Udaya.

Choreographed by Murali, the picturisation of the song highly reminds one of Puneeth’s recent release Raj, The Showman where Puneeth danced in praise of his father Dr Rajkumar. Ask Udaya about it and he immediately responds, “We had shot the song three years ago but due to some reasons we couldn’t air it. By then Raj.. had released, and there was nothing we could do about it. All I can say is that their song glorifies the past while mine talks about the present star.”
Another highlight of the film is that A R Rahman’s daughter A R Rehna has sung a Kannada song for the first time.
“It was really a great opportunity and she herself was surprised on how well the song has turned out. We hope the audience too will like it,” he adds. We hope so too.
