Govt to develop Sir MV's birthplace

He was speaking after inspecting the developmental works being implemented in Chikkaballapur taluk. Raveendra also visited Muddenahalli village and paid his tributes to the samadhi of Sir M Vishveshwaraiah. He said, immediate measures will be taken to upgrade the general hospital in Chikkaballapur City to a district-level hospital. He also instructed the officials concerned to take necessary steps in this regard.

Later on, Raveendra also attended a meeting at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium. A
discussion was also organised with regards to the construction of a bus stand, at the place where an Inspection Bungalow, belonging to the Public Works Department is situated.
He further said, grapes were cultivated highest in Chikkaballapur district. Subsidy would be sought for horticultural crops, under the National Horticultural Mission. The district administration should encourage the people to establish wine factories in the district. All the agricultural activities had come to a standstill, due to lack of rains. Hence, the Employment Guarantee Scheme should be activated in the district, Raveendra suggested. More drinking water supply projects should be implemented to redress water scarcity, he said.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer N Krishnappa, Additional Deputy Commissioner  G S Nayak were  present on the occasion.
