Car showroom staffer robbed

Three motorcycle-borne men attacked a cashier of a car showroom and robbed him of Rs. 1.40 lakh cash on Queen’s Road on Tuesday night.

Pradeep, who works at Pratham Motors, was on his way home when he was attacked by the robbers. He was carrying the cash collected at the showroom in a bag. In his complaint to the High Grounds police, he has stated that three men on a bike blocked his way and threw chilli powder on his face. They snatched the cash bag and sped.

The High Grounds police have registered a case and are investigating. Police suspect that some one who known to Pradeep or those who had closely observed his activities could have robbed him of the cash.

Man injured

A senior clerk at Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL) office on Cunnigham Road was injured when the glass panes of seventh floor window of the building crashed in on him while he was on the ground floor on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, Pappu Purna Rao, 55, a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar, was severely injured in his right leg. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital, opposite his the office, where he is recovering. The incident occurred when Rao and his colleagues were on their way to the canteen for coffee. The Cubbon Park police have registered a case.
