Ravivarma Kumar takes charge as AG

Senior counsel Ravivarma Kumar assumed charge as the Advocate General on Friday.

Kumar was swarmed with people as he took office. His predecessor, Vijay Shankar, congratulated him on his new assignment and expressed confidence that he would his job efficiently.

“I have known him since he began practising law. He gives his best to every case. I’m sure he will uphold the dignity and decorum of this office,” Vijay Shankar said, hoping that the law officer will assist Kumar in delivering speedy justice.

Kumar thanked the Chief Minister and the Law Minister on assigning him the new responsibility and said that he would strive hard to serve the people.

Among those who congratulated Kumar were Sarvodaya Party MLA, K S Puttanaiah, Udupi-Chikmagalar MP Jaya Prakash Hegde, and A P Ranganath, the General Secretary of Advocates’ Association, Bangalore.
