The High Court of Monday on rejected the bail plea of Govindaraju, the husband of corporator Gowramma in connection with the murder of Lingaraju, an RTI activist.
Justice Anand Byra Reddy dismissed the bail petition with a direction to approach the trial court. Lingaraju was hacked to death on November 20 by a gang that was allegedly hired by Gowramma’s husband Govindaraju.
The murder was said to be an act of revenge as Lingaraju had lodged a complaint against Gowramma with the Lokayukta police accusing her of amassing wealth disproportionate to her known sources of income.
