JOIN USFarmers alleged that the land of only “influential people” have been acquired for the housing project proposed by the Authority. They questioned the rationale of not acquiring the lands of all the farmers in the vicinity.
The agitated farmers said it could take aeons for formation of the layout and they would not be alive to enjoy its benefits.
A heated exchange of words ensued between president of Mahila Sangha Shanthamma and chairman of the Authority, Munirathnam Naidu.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of the Authority Bheemanudi clarified that the some land has not been acquired purely on account of the technical reason and there is no any political interference in it. He said that farmers have been made as partners in the project to ensure transparency.
After a lengthy deliberation, the meeting ultimately resolved that people willing to part with their land for layout formation can do so and that the land of people unwilling will not be acquired.
