Two gutka factories closed

Officers of the Food Safety and Standards Authority locked up two gutka and paan masala manufacturing factories in the taluk on Monday, after they found raw materials used in the manufacturing of the banned products.

“Of the three gutka factories in the taluk, two have been locked up following an inspection. The third factory too will be inspected soon,” explained the Authority’s senior official in Belgaum, Dr Jagadeesh Nuchin.
