Police commissionnerate: Youth Congress to stage protest today

He said the Home Minister has been giving false assurance on setting up Mangalore Commissionerate. He had announced that Mangalore Commissionerate will be inaugurated on November 1. However, nothing has been materialised so far.

Coelho said there is a need for Commissionerate in Mangalore as crimes are on rise in the district.  “Inspite of giving ‘power’ to the hands of BJP, government has failed to give ‘power’ to the people of the State. In spite of repaying the bills on time, Mescom has failed to provide round the clock electricity to the people of the region. Owing to the disruption in power supply, businessmen, industries and farmers are suffering. He urged the Mescom to provide a ‘candle’ to every consumer while handing over the bill.

The CM has been visiting the district temples to offer pooja. However, he has not wiped the tears of the arecanut growers by announcing support price for arecanut so far, in spite of assurances, he added.
