Six members of a family killed in accident

 Nearly, 21 people have been injured in the accident.

Bittagowdanahalli couple Honnegowda (65), Muddamma (55) and their grandchildren Arpita (21), Sharathkumar (10), Gowtham (12) died on the spot, while Puttamma of Heggadihalli died at the hospital. The injured have been admitted to a government hospital and are said to be out of danger. 

Incident occurred when the family members and their relatives from surrounding villages were returning from Maramma Devi procession near Kundur mutt.
A tyre of the tempo in which they were travelling was punctured. Hence it was parked by the roadside for repair works. A speeding tipper lorry hit the tempo from behind, in the evening. A case has been registered by the Shantigrama police.
