Medicos booked for ragging in UP college

 
The victim, Amit Kumar, a first year student of dental surgery in the Purvanchal Institute of Medical Science in Gorakhpur, has in his complaint with the police alleged that six of his seniors forced him to drink liquor and assaulted him.

Kumar alleged that the seniors singed him with cigarette butts and also hit him repeatedly with glass bottles when he refused to obey their instructions.

A criminal case has been registered against the six students under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, but no arrest has yet been made.

The institute staff is also under police scanner as it failed to take any action despite a complaint by the victim, police said adding that some of them may also be detained.
