Youth stabbed to death

Madesha alias Mahadevaiah, 25, of Kurubarahalli in Mahalakshmi Layout, was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Basaveshwarnagar police limits on Thursday night

. 

A native of Doddamalagawadi in Kunigal taluk of Tumkur district, Madesha was unemployed and took up petty jobs. Two youths aged between 25 and 30 followed him and picked a quarrel with him on 8th Main Road, Basaveshwarnagar, around 8.30 pm.

 “They abused and assaulted him and he retaliated. One of them held Madesha and the other stabbed him in the chest, abdomen and on the back. A heavily bleeding Madesha collapsed on the road sustaining injuries on his head,” Jayadev, an eye-witness, said.
 A few residents rushed him to a nearby private hospital where he died. It is said Madesha had helped his auto-driver friend get a Rs 7,000 loan from a financier and had earned commission from the deal. The financier started targeting Madesha after his friend failed to repay the loan. Police suspect financial dispute and rivalry could have led to his murder. Rider killed

A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when he came under the rear wheels of a goods vehicle in Chikkajala, on Thursday. Mohammad Quddoos, 20, is the dead. 

Police said the speeding goods vehicle hit Quddoos’ bike from behind and the impact was such that Kuddos was thrown up in the air and came under the wheels of the vehicle.

 The driver is absconding. Police have seized the vehicle and are on the lookout for the driver.
