The State government is all set to hold a meeting to discuss the realignment of Namma Metro Phase 2. The meeting will be headed by Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and officials from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) are expected to attend the meeting.

While it is not known whether the realignment of the Metro line around the Jayadeva Hospital will be reconsidered, official sources confirm that N Sivasailan, Managing Director, BMRCL will give a presentation on the issue.

According to the original alignment, the interchange Metro station of RV Road-Bommasandra line and Gottigere-Nagawara line would have been located inside the parking lot of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Science and Research. After Jayadeva Hospital Director C N Manjunath raised objections, the high-powered committee (HPC) headed by the chief secretary directed the BMRCL to change the alignment. The new alignment was designed to take a right turn before the flyover and pass through private properties.
