Youth's decomposed body found

Last Updated 12 June 2013, 20:05 IST

The highly decomposed body of a 30-year-old man was found in a house he had rented at Kenchenahalli (Rajarajeshwari Nagar police limits) on Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Chandrashekar Rao, hailing from Tiptur in Tumkur district. The incident came to light when Krishna Reddy, the house owner, came visiting.

Rao was working at an interior decoration firm in the City for the past year and a half. Reddy sensed something amiss as he had not seen Rao for the past five days.

On Wednesday, Rao did not answer any calls. The owner grew suspicious when foul smell started emanating from the house.

He peeped through the window and found Rao’s body. The only door to the house was locked from inside. He alerted the police who rushed to the spot, broke open the door and retrieved the body.

Autopsy was conducted on Rao’s body at Victoria Hospital and later handed over to his family.

Rajarajeshwari Nagar police have registered a case of unnatural death.

Chandrashekar's elder brother Manjunath Rao told Deccan Herald that Chandrashekar had called his elder sister on Sunday morning, saying a lizard had fallen on him.

“She asked him to take a bath and go to a temple. That was the last call he attended,” he said. Police suspect that he may have died on Sunday morning.
