With Minister for Agriculture Market and Sugar having shown no interest in the programme which was scheduled to be inaugurated in Bangalore by the chief minister, the officials in the APMCs have received neither instructions nor materials which were required to organise the programme.

When the ‘APMC Marukatte Saptaha’ commenced here on Monday, the officials were in dark about the programmes to be held.
The authorities were supposed to educate the farmers about the misguiding middlemen, use of digital weighing machines and many other issues important for the farmers while selling their produces at the APMC market, as per the instructions they received earlier.
The pamphlets, which were supposed to be distributed among the farmers in every village, didn’t reach the officials at all even on the inaugural day. For,  sources said, the Karnataka Agricultural Marketing Board had not even printed the pamphlets.
Except the banner, the programme wasn’t beneficial for the participants as the officials were also in dark over the issues to be discussed at the programme.
‘Clueless’

When contacted Kolar APMC President said, he was clueless about the programme. He said, the instructions and materials for the programme should have been dispatched to the committees and preparations should have been made for such a week-long programme in advance.

According to the sources, Minister for Agriculture Market and Sugar Shivaraj Tangadagi  had told the officials of the department that Chief Minister would inaugurate the programme in Bangalore.

However, the minister had not shown any interest following political turmoil in the State. The minister, who is supporting the Reddy brothers in the internecine fights among the BJP leaders, seemed not so keen on holding the programmes.
However, APMC Assistant Director V Ramesh said, banners on the Saptaha are ready and pamphlets would be distributed by the officials on Tuesday.

Any public meeting and lectures will not be held as part of the programme. Instead, the officials will instruct the organisers on how to carry out the programme.
