<p>The Karnataka State Environment Awards for 2012-13 will be conferred on two individuals and four institutions, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) announced here on Monday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>“This time, our officials personally visited and met the institutions and individuals who had applied for the awards. The applications were invited based on divisions in the State as South, Malnad, Karavali and North zones,” KSPCB Chairman, Vaman Acharya, told reporters. <br /><br />The awards will be given away at a function organised by the KSPCB and the Department of Forests, Environment and Ecology at T Chowdaiah Memorial Hall at 5 pm on Tuesday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will preside over the function and felicitate the awardees, each of whom will walk away with a prize money of Rs one lakh and a citation, added Acharya. <br /><br />The winners<br /><br />Individuals: Saalumarada Linganna from Ramanagara and P D Vaalikara from Bagalkot district<br /><br />Institutions: Development initiatives for Sustainable Human Advancement (DISHA) from Kaikamba, Dakshina Kannada district; ITC Limited Agri Business Division from Mysore; Santhe Kaduru Parisara Adhyayana Kendra from Shimoga and Sajjala Shree Samagra Krushi Adhyayana and Grameena Abhivruddhi from Lingasugur, Raichur district. <br />DH News Service</p>
