<p>Defending its MLAs decision to back Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the trust vote, the Congress on Wednesday said they did so to thwart the design of communal forces.<br /><br /></p>.<p> While refusing to term the move a “prelude to any future alliance”, party spokesman P C Chacko said “We have supported the Nitish Kumar government to thwart the communal forces.It is not a prelude to a future alliance. This is without any condition. We do not expect anything in return. There is no quid pro quo. There is no deal.”<br /><br /> He denied any understanding between the Centre and JD-U government.</p>
