Actor Tharun Chandra confesses that when he’s not shooting, he’s experimenting with his looks — especially with his hairstyle.

This habit has come in handy for his latest project ‘Goa’, in which Tharun has gone all out, perhaps for the first time in his career, and will be seen sporting blonde hair. “My character in ‘Goa’ is that of a compulsive flirt and I decided to colour my hair.

I even asked the designer to pick loud and colourful clothes for me. I think the clothes and hairstyle blend well with the character,” Tharun tells Metrolife.

The film is a remake of a Tamil film with the same title. It traces the story of three men from a village who decide to move into the City with a certain plan in mind. What that plan is and whether the three men will succeed in accomplishing it is not revealed till the end of the movie.

“I play the role of a flirt and the real challenge lies in turning into someone you aren’t in real life. Essaying this role has added a whole new dimension to my personality and I’ve enjoyed being someone I am not,” Tharun says.

Tharun wants to experiment with as many different roles as he can. He shares that every character and every new movie offers him something different and he doesn’t want to get repetitive in his roles.

“This film is a romantic-comedy and my loudness — in terms of my body language and dressing — is pleasant and is sure not to leave the viewer exasperated. Although the film is a remake, I have tried not to replicate the original character but incorporate a lot of my style into the character instead. It has been tweaked to suit the local tastes,” explains Tharun.

The film is a multi-starrer but Tharun has no qualms sharing screen space with so many actors. “I think it’s fun when you head out for shooting in a large group. We’ve bonded really well and most of the film was shot in Goa — a place where I hang out whenever I can grab sometime. The place and wonderful co-stars made for a great shooting experience,” he states.

Tharun observes that he has no restrictions when it comes to acting but he prefers to do roles that suit him. “I’ve signed a new project with a popular actor in the Kannada film industry but I am not ready to get into the details just yet,” he sums up.
