Two killed in separate accidents

Two motorcyclists were killed in separate accidents in Electronics City traffic police limits on Saturday. Shivakumar, 32, a junior engineer, sustained severe injuries after a car collided with his bike at Naidu Layout on Nice road at around 6.30 pm. The accident occurred while Shivakumar was on his way to a construction site.

He was shifted to a nearby hospital but declared dead on arrival, police said. Shivakumar, who hailed from Kunigal, was a resident of Kottigepalya. The police seized the car and arrested the driver, Rajiv of Konanakunte.

In another accident which occurred at around 7.30 pm on Begurkoppa Road, Venkatesh, 18, a stone crusher operator and resident of Siddartha Colony, Madiwala, was critically injured after an autorickshaw rammed his bike head on.

407 theft cases solved

The City South Division police solved 407 cases of property theft worth over Rs four crore in the last three months and arrested 184 suspects in this connection.

City Commissioner of Police B G Jyothiprakash Mirji said: “Total assets worth Rs 4,67,91,095 have been recovered from the suspects in the cases of chain snatching, house theft, burglary and car theft.”
