Jeremy Loops, the South African sensation left the people of Delhi spellbound with his performance at Blue Frog recently. It was a packed house and the crowd was swept off their feet by Jeremy and gang, i.e. lyricist Motheo Moleko and Saxophone player Jamie Faull.

Some of the tracks played by Jeremy included Power, Mission to the Sun, My Shoes, etc. He performed with a loop station, pedals and beat box. Ecstatic with his visit in India, Jeremy Loops says, “This is the first time I am visiting your country and I have been super-excited. I heard that India has an amazing audience and it was proved when people responded so well to my music.”

Elaborating his views, Jeremy added, “I have never played or been to India before but had heard some wild and wonderful things about it. India has everything you could be looking to find – culture, cities, deserts, jungles, mountains that touch the sky and beaches. I’m also a huge fan of Indian food. We have a big Indian population in South Africa and I love to eat thali here!”

Defining his music, the musician says, “I am inspired by folk musicians but I like to make my music applicable to modern times. That’s why we have a rapper and we use modern technology like a loop pedal to add a touch of bass to our shows. I create a mash-up of a number of genres, namely folk, reggae, hip-hop, gypsy-jazz – basically whatever keeps me smiling.”

Emerge, which is a part of Viacom 18, is an underground property that will have recurring live events that will bring fresh and unheard international music to India. The property will not only promote international talent here but also provide an experience to the Indian fans like never before.
