Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the State government would extend all support to set up a world-class Kuvempu Kalakshetra.
Speaking after the release of the complete collection of Kuvempu’s works recently, the chief minister said, “Bangalore needs a Kalakshetra. We will hold a meeting shortly to decide about its design.”
Speaking about the poet laureate, Siddaramaiah said, “Kuvempu provided an ideological framework to Kannada literature.”
The event was organised by Kuppalli Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Pratishtana.
Pratishtana president Hampa Nagaraj said: “The space at Ravindra Kalakshetra is not sufficient to hold bigger literature and cultural events. A kalakshetra named after Kuvempu should be built in the City and the government should allot funds in the
budget.”
