Celebrating dance

Yet another dance school of Delhi showcased its talented students at a gala event recently. Dance Trix studios, one of the best ranking dance schools of the city, held The Streets – its annual programme where its young prodigies displayed their dancing skills – ranging from Indian classical, Western to contemporary et al.

Its manager Jhashank Gupta informs Metrolife, “Dance Trix works with the best dancers and choreographers in India as a result of which our students come out well-trained and complete professionals. We get to see the same temperament at The Streets where our students deliver back-to-back performances before a huge audience. There is no scope for mistakes here.”

Over 50 students presented a fusion of Bollywood, Hip-hop, Kathak and Contemporary Dance. The young duo Shyambhavi and Nilakshi Prabhakar rendered a beautiful Kathak tarana. Then, Mukul, Gaurav, Gulshan Raj Aryan and Pawan gave a scintillating Hip-hop and Street dance performance on songs like Aashiqui and Pehla Nasha.

Many acts were inspired by the recent hit Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani. A host of students danced to the song Ghagra and Deepika Padukone special Balam Pichkari. Three tiny tots Abeer, Mannat and Sashvi Suden performed on Badtameez Dil. Lastly, the students rendered some songs from the '70s - a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema.

The kids were definitely happy with their work. As Chanaya Gupta, a student, expressed, “It’s amazing. I started in class III, and six years later, dance still holds the same charm for me. The experience of dancing in this show is definitely special but our journey in Dance Trix is also memorable. The bond we share will stay
invaluable.”
