Two workers of a supermarket allegedly killed their manager by slitting his throat and injured their supervisor in HAL police limits early on Friday morning.

The dead has been identified as Shamsheer, 28, manager of Maha Bazaar, a supermarket in Annasandrapalya.

The supervisor, Shabbir, 26, is battling for his life at a private hospital. Both hail from Kerala and together with Basheer, their cashier, they had employed two Manipuri workers, Tony and Pappu.

The two were provided accommodation at their employer’s home at SR Plaza in Munnekolala, police said.

Shamsheer, Shabbir, Tony and Pappu returned home on Thursday night after the day’s work. They had dinner together and the murder took place sometime later.

“Tony and Pappu slit Shamsher’s throat while he was sleeping, killing him on the spot. Later, they attacked Shabbir with knives and fled the house at around 2.30 am.

“It is not known what triggered the incident,” police added.

The incident came to light after Shabbir called his friend Nazeer on the phone for help. Nazeer shifted the two to a nearby hospital and informed the police, an investigating officer said.

Cash intact

Basheer had been to Kerala to meet his ailing father and had left for Bangalore on Thursday night.

Police said cash and valuables in the house were in tact.

However, neither Shamsheer nor Shabbir had conducted a background check to verify the antecedents of the two and hence  little details were known about them. A team has been constituted to trace the suspects.
