<p>The Lokayukta Police, on Friday, trapped Undersecretary of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department D M Rajanna while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000. He had demanded Rs 5,000 from complainant V Venkatachalaiah for dropping a departmental enquiry (DE) pending against him.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The Lokayukta Police laid a trap on the basis of a complaint registered by Venkatachalaiah, a retired senior assistant director at Fisheries Department. The complainant had retired on February 28. He, however, had a pending DE against him for dereliction of duty. It is said the officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant to drop the DE.<br /><br />Venkatachalaiah had given Rs 1,225 and had registered a complaint with the Lokayukta before giving the remaining amount. Rajanna was caught red handed in the Railway Station while accepting the bribe.</p>
