Two men were found bludgeoned to death in the City since Saturday night.

The battered corpse of a senior citizen was found near the Mathikere bus stop late on Saturday night. The dead man has been identified as Mohan, 65, a native of Chinnappa Gardens.

According to police, Mohan and two of his friends had visited his daughter’s house near Mathikere in the evening. Sources said Mohan and his friends were in an inebriated condition when they left for Chinnappa Gardens later that night.

When Mohan failed to reach home by the early hours of Sunday, his family members lodged a missing person’s complaint with the Yeshwantpur police. By this time, his body had been found by the night beat policemen.

Police suspect that Mohan’s friends murdered him over a drunken brawl and fled. The Yeshwantpur police have registered a murder case and are investigating.
