KDA seeks action against chief postmaster

Last Updated 13 July 2013, 19:33 IST

The Kannada Development Authority (KDA) has dispatched a letter to Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Kapil Sibal, seeking disciplinary action against the Chief Post Master of Karnataka, Hilda Abraham, for not implementing Kannada language in her office.

As per a government order, the Government of India had recognised the implementation of a three-language policy in all Central government offices, including names and designations on the nameplates being in the State language (Kannada), national language (Hindi) and English.

Chairman of the KDA Mukhyamantri Chandru claimed that Abraham was not co-operative towards his department during the inspection of her office to ensure that Kannada had been implemented in their letterheads, rubber stamps and nameplates.
