All India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge (Karnataka) Digvijay Singh will be chairman of the both co-ordination committee and manifesto implementation committee in the State.

KPCC chairman G Parameshwara will be their convenor while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be their member. Apart from them, Congress national president Sonia Gandhi will nominate a senior party leader from the state and a member from the Congress legislative party as members of the committees.

Earlier, the Congress high command had announced that it would constitute a co-ordination committee and a manifesto implementation committee in all Congress-ruled states to ensure proper co-ordination between government as well as the party. Separately, Siddaramaiah, who was here to attend the meeting on execution of the National Food Security Scheme, met Sonia Gandhi on Friday and discussed the state budget. Gandhi, while appreciating the schemes announced in the budget, also suggested the CM to take steps on their early implementation.

As only eight months remain in the current fiscal, she reportedly told the CM to implement all schemes without fail.
