State cadets fly high at Vayu Sainik camp

Around 600 cadets, including 180 girls of 15 directorates, from all over the country participated in the camp. The home team of Karnataka and Goa Directorate bagged three out of the five trophies in the competitions held during the camp.

Addressing the cadets at the valedictory programme, the Chief Guest, Air Commodore Ravi Dhar, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate (Karnataka & Goa), expressed hope that the air wing cadets would one day become “Air Warriors” of the Indian Air Force or may even pursue careers in the civil aviation industry.
Trophies for team events - ‘Best Tech Air Squadron’, ‘Line area’ and ‘Drill’ were won by the Karnataka and Goa directorate. The individual events on the other hand were dominated by cadets from Maharashtra. The Chief Guest gave away prizes to the winners.

Cadets from Maharashtra won a total of nine individual medals followed by the home directorate, which won six medals. The cadets also revelled in activities such as Gliding, Micro Light aircraft flying Static Aero Modelling, Control Line and Skeet Shooting during the course of the camp. The cadets also got the opportunity of flying in a Air Force Transport Aircraft and Helicopters at the Yelahanka Air Force station.
