Cong to wait and watch

Says it is an internal matter and will not take advantage

KPCC President R V Deshpande, on Thursday, said that the party was not in touch with any group of the BJP. “It is an internal matter of the BJP. Let them settle it,” he said.
He said that the Congress’s concern was only flood relief. “If Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa cannot take up relief works effectively he should resign,” he said.

Replying to a question Deshpande said the Congress would not take up the crisis issue with the Governor. It was for the Governor to take appropriate action when the situation warranted and there was no need for the Opposition to meet the governor.

Congress leader B L Shankar said that remaining silent is also a political strategy. “The party need not talk on every issue. We will watch the developments,” he said.
There are speculations that the Congress would form the government with the rebel group of the BJP in case the talks in Delhi failed. As of now, the Congress has 73 MLAs.  It is in need of 40 MLAs to reach the required number of 113.

The party would get majority if the rebel group, which claims to have support of more than 50 MLAs, extends support to the Congress.
