Two-wheelers worth Rs 3.16 lakh seized; one held

N R Police have arrested a 38-year-old man on charges of vehicle theft and have recovered seven two-wheelers, worth Rs 3.16 lakh from him recently.

Syed Abdulla alias Abdulla alias Kifayat, a resident of Metagalli is the accused.

He was moving in a suspicious manner at outer-ring road junction, when police intercepted him. When he failed to produce documents on enquiry, he was interrogated further.

He confessed to have lifted the motorbikes parked in front of the houses and parking lots for the past several months at Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district, Channapatna near Bangalore and other places.

The police team was led by D Dhananjaya, consisting of sub-inspectors Mustaq Pasha and B Parashuram, said a press release.

Teacher robbed

A teacher was robbed of her mangalsutra worth Rs 1.5 lakh near Amritanandamayi School, Bogadi, on Saturday.

Sudhamani, a resident of Treasury Layout and teacher at a government school in Gangarahosahalli, Gaddige road, was walking towards home around 1.45 pm, when a
two-wheeler rider yanked off the valuable.

While two pendants remained with her, she was relieved of the chain weighing 56 grams.

Saraswathipuram police have registered a case.

Man found dead

A 40-year-old man was found dead in front of a house in Ambedkar Colony in Vidyaranyapuram police limits on Saturday.

The deceased, who remains unidentified, had taken shelter in front of an abandoned house belonging to Girish at the colony for the past several days. He is wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans pant.
