JOIN US The mushrooming of illegal institutions claiming as Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) study centres has come to light in the district. These study centres are using the name of KSOU and the university logo to cheat students.
Taking note of the issue, University Regional Director Dr K P Mahalingaiah has clarified that only seven KSOU regional centres are functioning legally in Udupi centre limits. When Assistant Registrar J Ramesh paid visits to such illegal centres, he found several fake information produced by the centres.
“We have realised the fraud committed by a few study centres using the KSOU banner and logo. Such centres must be closed immediately, failing which legal action will be initiated,” Dr K P Mahalingaiah has warned in a release.
He has also cautioned the public, parents and students to be aware of such centres. The students who wish to gain entry into the KSOU will have to apply in the registered centres or can contact the regional centre.
