A range of exotic, ornamental and medicinal plants were displayed at the fair by the Unit’s physically challenged trainees. Neatly arranged, the saplings, designer pots and bonsai beckoned the buyers. The billing section was packed, clearly indicating the first day rush.
The Horticulture Training Centre started providing training in plant management for young people with disabilities in 1985. To help fund the Centre’s work, APD organises the garden fair every year.
This year’s fair will be on till November 10. All the proceeds from this event will go towards funding the training, education, mobility aids and meals of the trainees.
