July 31 last date to get Manipal health card

KMC has enrolled 38,000 people in Dakshina Kannada and North Kerala towards Manipal Health Card and aims to reach the target of 60,000 enrolments this year, said KMC Hospital, Attavar, Medical Superintendent Dr Madhusudhan Upadya.

Addressing press persons in Mangalore on Tuesday, he told that the last date to enrol for Manipal Health Card for this year is July 31, 2013.

KMC Mangalore Dean Dr M V Prabhu told that Manipal health Card, which is a part of KMC’s Academic Social Responsibility, is a discount card which helps the patients to get free consultation with specialist doctors at KMC, Attavar and to avail 50 per cent discount on consultation fee with specialist doctors at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle, any number of times during the year.

Apart from this, Manipal Health Card Holders can get 20 per cent discount on preventive health check up, dental treatment (excluding materials and consumables), diagnostics and laboratory investigations among others.

There will also be discounts on medicines purchased from the hospital and inpatient bill in general ward, he said and added that the card is a non-insurance card.

Rs 250 per card

KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle Superintendent Dr Anand Venugopal told that the  individual card is priced at Rs 250 while a family card at Rs 500. An add-on card is also available for the parents of primary card holders under the family card scheme for Rs 100 per patient, he added.
