Last Updated 24 July 2013, 17:08 IST

The third edition of the Mahindra Adventure Monsoon Challenge will be flagged off from Orion Mall in Rajajinagar on Thursday.

One of the most popular TSDs (time-speed-distance) in the country will cover a total of around 1200kms in a span of three days with around 50 cars in contention for the prize money of Rs 13 lakh.

The rally begins in Bangalore, moves to Mangalore and then to Shimoga before coming to a close in Goa on Sunday (July 28).

Some of the top TSD drivers in the country will be part of the Challenge, and amongst them 2012 Indian National champions Satish Gopalakrishnan and Savera D’Souza will be the ones to look out for.

The Bangalore couple has set the TSD scene on fire with its very consistent displays in the last few years and the two can be expected to do well in this event given their familiriaty with the region.

Indian National Rally Championship navigator Ashwin Naik, who will also be taking part in the rally, announced at the press conference on Wednesday that the route has been changed dramatically to add a dash of colour and thrill to the event.
“This is the most exhilarating rally in the country and it is only going to get better,” said Naik.

“We have made the route a lot more interesting and we have changed it so that people who have driven it before don’t take it too lightly.”
