The perfect cup of tea

There might be an increasing number of cafes in the City, but what is still uncommon are tea rooms. But for those looking for the perfect cup of tea, ‘Tea Brew’ — located in Indiranagar — is a great place to go.

This tea room, a mix of the east and west, is a comfortable and warm space with bamboo and cane furniture and funny cartoons adorning the wall. Owned by Pritika and Nikhil, the place has the tea of your choice, prepared with tea leaves instead of tea bags. “We source our leaves from the finest tea gardens after a lot of research.

We offer about 15 varieties of steaming hot teas for one to choose from here,” says Nikhil, who’s an IIM alumnus. Be it Darjeeling tea or jasmine green; Ginseng Oolong or Rooibos; chamomile or Blooming Tea, this tea room has something for every tea lover.

Belonging to a family that’s been in the tea business for generations, this young tea connoisseur believes that the City has a number of takers for the brew. “Our customers speak for this. We see regulars who know their tea from another and know exactly what to order. And with the different items that we offer for munching, the place is perfect for a quick snack or for just relaxing with your dear ones,” elaborates Nikhil.

“We always wanted to do something different and that is how our tea room came into being. Our USP is the tea we serve. With a number of cafes emerging day by day, a tea place is what the City needed. Since Nikhil’s family has been in the tea industry, it was easier to delve into,” adds Pritika.

Besides serving the freshest varieties of hot teas, ‘Tea Brew’ also offers yummy snacks to choose from at an affordable price.

The paneer roll, spinach corn cheese sandwich, red pasta, sumptuous momos, onion pakoda as well as delicious savoury nuggets and fingers with mouth-watering dips are some of the interesting items. For those who just want to satiate their hunger with something simple, there are Maggi and Wai-Wai noodles too.

“We are open to customisation. Whether it’s less salt, oil or sugar, we try and fit the needs of the customer,” claims Nikhil. Another thing the duo lay importance on is quality. Pritika elaborates, “Many have suggested to us that keeping some things ready overnight would help to meet heavy orders on a busy day. But freshness and quality ingredients are of utmost importance to us. We use the finest virgin oil for our pastas and rice bran oil for the crispy munches, knowing their health benefits.”This tea room is located at 3155, Srinivasan Towers, opposite ESI Hospital, near 12th Main Road, Indiranagar Double Road.
