Gambling dens raided

Acting on a tip-off, the CCB sleuths raided two locations on Sunday and arrested 14 people on the charge of gambling. Police have a more than Rs 38,000 in cash, 33 cellphones and a laptop.

During a raid on a house at Byadarahalli in Kamakshipalya, police arrested Nagesh Mudde Gowda, 21, for organising and collecting large bets from people during the third one-day cricket match between India and Zimbabwe.

He had been contacting customers using cellphones and a laptop. The police have confiscated Rs 8,600 in cash, 17 cellphones and the laptop.

Kamakshipalya police have registered a case.

Thirteen arrested

Police also raided a luxury suite on R T Nagar main road and arrested 13 men for gambling using cards.

Police confiscated Rs 30,120 in cash and 16 cellphones. R T Nagar police have booked a case.
