Presenting a gift to create a long lasting impression on people’s mind is always a difficult task. But the recently concluded Gift Expo at Pragati Maidan, made this job a bit easier as dealers in corporate gifting sector came under one roof.

Rachit Aggarwal , a City based entrepreneur in corporate gifting came up with novel cigar, poker and wine boxes. “They are not cliché like other boxes which is generally used to gift chocolates,” says Rachit.

“These boxes are especially designed for different industries.Like the floral print box is especially for those belonging to fashion sector. Similarly, there is plain wooden box for office tables which can be gifted to those in banking sector. On the other hand wine boxes can be given as a token of fruitful business in hospitality and management industry,” says he.

However, those who looked for more expensive items, Nabed Ahmed’s stall of metal items was their destination. Basically into export business, Moradabad based Nabed for the first time participated in the gift expo. “We have silver plated boxes, bowls, dishes, vase, plates with metal engravings,” says Nabed.

Of the numerous items displayed at his stall, it was the elegant candle lamps that stole the show. “They look like ceramic but they are not,” says Nabed. “It is metal only. It has been polished in such a way that it looks like ceramic.  This is very popular in western countries and therefore we are planning to introduce this in domestic market too,” says he.

Selling slightly bigger lamps than Nabed’s, Mohammed Mehfuz displayed an exotic collection of table lamps.  From side table to hanging and technical lamps, Mehfuz had a variety in brass, aluminium, steel and copper. Talking about the latest trend in the market these days, he says, “Crystal lamps are a hit these days. The metal  moulded in different shapes is embedded with the crystals so that the light emitted from the bulb becomes vibrant but not too sharp.”

Another City based businessman Gomteshwar Jain came up with colourful upholstery in digital prints. “Bed linings, cushions, serving tray, colourful boxes are good options for gifting. Today, market is flooded with varieties of it in different ranges. So we have a collection of all those items which are most liked by the people and when gifted can have a remembrance value for long,” says he.

Other stalls at the expo had gifting items like gourmet baskets, simple photo frames, colourful magnetic stickers, handicraft products for decoration and stationery.
