Small screen calling

She may soon be seen in the role of a judge on a reality show, which is going to commence on a local channel. But nothing has been finalised yet. “Negotiations are still on and everything is in the preliminary stage,” says Priyanka. Sources say that the programme would be on the lines of the Hindi reality show Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.

Priyanka is said to be quite excited about this offer and is looking forward to interacting with the general public. Even on a personal front, Priyanka finds the small screen more comfortable. “Movies are a lot more demanding in terms of travelling and I won’t be able to travel all that much. But with small screen, there will be only one base and I will find it much easier to balance both work and home,” she adds.

But if things don’t work, there is nothing to fret because this damsel has made up her mind and is all set to start a production house of her own. She plans to produce a couple of reality shows which may even feature her as a host. “With me coming back to movies, Upi directing and the children growing up, I guess it’s time for me to start something new. So I thought a lot about coming out with something new. I think I have improved on my Kannada so I am confident about hitting the small screen,” she says.

Why a reality based programme? “Reality shows are very popular these days. I personally love all sorts of shows and find them a lot of fun,” she says. “Though I don’t watch any show religiously, I have watched shows like Bigg Boss, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Indian Idol. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have something on those lines in Kannada?” Well, we sure think it will.
