Registrar designate attacks doctor on transfer issue

Nagarajappa has lodged an attempt to murder complaint against Venkataramaiah and his friends with the Vijaynagar police, the police said.

The government had transferred Venkataramaiah and appointed Nagarajappa instead. Venkataramaiah was under the impression that Nagarajappa was behind his transfer episode. He presumed that Nagarajappa had lured his juniors to complain against him with the higher ups, thereby leading to his transfer. They both had fought over the same issue and a complaint was lodged with the Banashankari police in this regard, the police added.

On Friday night, Venkataramaiah drove near Nagarajappa’s residence along with two of his friends. They accosted Nagarajappa, who was returning home in his car after purchasing milk, on 4th Main Road in MC Layout and attacked him with lethal weapons.

Couple robbed

Unidentified persons robbed a couple of their gold chain in KR Puram police limits on Sunday.
According to the police, the incident occurred near Anandapura, when Nutan Prasad and his wife were returning home on their bike after watching a movie. The four accused, who came in two bikes, accosted the couple near Nilgiri groove and demanded ornaments and cash.

When Nutan protested, they attacked him with a knife and snatched his wife’s chain worth Rs 65,000. Nutan sustained injuries on his right hand, the police added.

One  succumbs to injuries

A motorist, who had sustained severe injuries in a road accident, died here on Sunday. Victim Uttam (22) a resident of Sanjaynagar hailed from Rajasthan. He owned a mobile phone shop in the City.
A speeding car had knocked him down, when he was riding a bike on T Chowdiah Road in Sadashivanagar traffic police limits on November 1. He sustained severe injuries.

However, he failed to respond to treatment and succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Sunday, the police added. The car driver has been arrested.

House burgled

Thieves broke open the front door of Alvin D’ Souza’s house on HSR Layout and fled with valuables on Sunday night.

Two arrested

Police arrested two persons and recovered 19 stolen mobile handsets of various companies worth Rs 80,000 from them in Viveknagar on Friday evening. Imran Pasha (25) and Akram (24), residents of Chamarajpet, had stolen cell phones of commuters travelling in BMTC buses, the police said.
