JOIN US'We make time for each other'
Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Agnihotri have been successful television actors. Rated among top celebrity couples who are happily married despite their hectic schedules, the couple attribute their successful relationship to the good rapport and understanding they share.
Talking about what keeps the couple going strong, Shilpa says, “He’s (Apoorva) my best friend and I can be myself around him. We are close and despite our hectic schedules, at the end of the day we make time for each other.”
Shilpa is remembered for her role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. “Shooting for television is a full-time job. You have to dress up and wait for your turn, shooting for films is more organised,” reasons Shilpa. She further states that she has had a lot of offers for films coming her way. “But there’s nothing really substantial and worth my effort. I prefer to wait for the right script,” she adds.
Apoorva has had his share of fame. He likes to take things as they come without rushing anything. “I’ve tried just about everything and now direction is something I would like to explore. That will happen when it has to,” he reasons.
The couple think that the film industry has evolved and the scripts too are becoming less predictable. “When it comes to films, there’s more to look forward to and there are newer actors coming along,” say the couple.
They have their circuit of close friends but they say that Shah Rukh Khan is class apart. “He’s a great guy and you wouldn’t even think that you are in the presence of a popular actor when you are with him. He’s humble and always promotes new talent,” says Apoorva.
Why not do a film together? Shilpa laughs, “I don’t know, we have never really struck on something that’s worth our effort. But we haven’t lost hope, let’s see.”
