M'lorean to represent India in world chess

Briefing media persons here, Derik’s Chess School administrator Deric Pinto said that the world championshp would be held in Turkey between November 10 and 23. Nihal, who had finished thrid in the National Under-13 category, would compete in the under 14 boys section. National Under 13 Chess Championship was held at Vellore in 2008, Pinto added.

Nihal is 10th standard student at Lourdes Central School in the city and son of Dr Manjunath  and Dr Veena Manjunath. Hehad won silver medal in Asian School Chess State Under 13 championship.
