Shri Krishna Janmasthami, Mosaru Kudike in Mangalore

Shri Krishna Janma Mahotsava Samiti, Kadri, will celebrate ‘Shri Krishna Janmasthami and Mosaru Kudike festival’ at Shri Gopala Krishna Mutt, Kadri, on August 28 and 29.

Addressing presspersons in Mangalore, Shri Krishna Janmamahotsava Committee Vice President Sudhakar Rao Pejavara said that the idol of Lord Sri Krishna will be brought in a procession from Shri Jaya Maruthi Bhajana Mandir, Kadri to Shri Gopala Krishna Mutt, near Kadri Kambla, followed by bhajan singing.

He further said that the 44th year of Mosarukudike will be observed on August 29.
A procession will be taken from Shri Gopalakrishna Mutt to the premises of Kadri Shri Manjunatheshwara Temple through Kadri Kambla- Mallikatte road at 6 pm.

The procession will comprise of bhajan troupes, tableaus, Chende teams from Payyattam, Band team of Mysore, Dandiya dance from Hubli, Kalladka gombe. Firecracker show will be the attractions of the procession. The procession will be followed by Mosarukudike, he said.

Rao said that artistes of Havyasi Balaga, Kadri will perform a Yakshagana ‘Shri Krishna Dinashwamedha’ from 8.30 pm onwards.

Other celebrations

Hare Krishna Temple (Krishna Consciousness Movement) at coconut garden road, Kadri, will celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami at Dr T M A Pai Convention Centre, Mangalore, on August 28.

Iskcon Nama Nishtha Das said that the celebrations will start at 6 pm and will continue till 12 midnight.

He said that the Hare Krishna Temple will start a four-session course on Vedic science in order to benefit the society at large from September 1.

The course will be conducted free of cost. The timings is on every Sundays between 11 am and 1 pm. The course will be offered in Kannada, Tulu, English, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.

International Society for Krishna Conciousness (ISKCON) Mangalore branch will celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Devadiga Samaja Bhavan in Mannagudd, on August 28.

Apart from participating in prayers and poojas, the programme will give an opportunity for the devotees to chant ‘Hare Krishna Mantra’ 108 times in a special Harinama Japa Mantapa. District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate Harinama Japa Mantapa, Karunya Sagar Das told mediapersons.
