‘Be your own mentor’

The Journalism and Psychology Departments of Seshadripuram Degree College had organised the prize distribution function of inter-class competitions recently. Documentary film-maker Abdul Rehman Pasha and psychologist Sujendra Prakash distributed the prizes.

Addressing the students, Pasha said, “Students must have an urge for knowledge and nothing should stop them from doing so. They should try to be self-reliant. Unfortunately, majority of today’s young people do not focus on becoming their own mentor.”

Sujendra Prakash advised the students to develop their personality through talent-related skills and asked them to choose their career based on their interest and capabilities. “Psychology is a multi-disciplinary study which can help the students to face exams without fear, which in turn will prepare them to face the challenges of life,” he said.

A R Srinivasaiah, Joint Secretary of Seshadripuram Educational Trust, presided over the function and appreciated the efforts of both the departments in encouraging talents. The gathering watched a documentary after the function.
