The minister, virtually went hyper, living his role to the hilt in true style wooing IT biggies much to the bemusement of not only his ministerial colleague Home Minister V S Acharya but also entire congregation at the inaugural function of BangaloreIT.biz 2009.

Departing from prepared text, Naidu, who extolled the contributions of Infosys, Wipro & Biocon in putting the State and City on global IT & BT map, convinced them to keep investing and expanding in the State.

Singing paeans of Azim Premji, Narayana Murthy and Kiran Mazumdar, he said no stone would be left unturned to clear their proposals and demands.  The minister, whose spirited speech, left much of audience in titters, cajoled Premji to come up with proposals, which would be cleared in a jiffy.

Likewise, he was effusive in his praise of not only Narayana Murthy but also Kiran Mazumdur as also Cisco’s Padmashree Warrior for their help in providing succour to flood victims.  Premji & Warrior, both seated on the dias, much to their discomfiture and bewilderment, were left smiling at Katta’s eulogy.

“Thanks to Wipro & Infosys, not only could State’s IT exports registered a high of Rs 75,000 crore, it also has proved that recession has not impacted the State. I had repeatedly claimed that there was no recession. Where is recession? There is no recession, ” he gloriously trumpeted on the sterling performance of State’s IT sector and his own take on global crisis.

By his rather animated way of rolling out the red carpet for the IT majors both locally and international audience present, Katta ensured he too basked in the reflected glory of Infy, Wipro & Bicon besides the international players that have set up shop in India’s Silicon Capital.
