Second seed Rafael Nadal was still hot at the Flushing Meadows here as the 2010 US Open champion needed only two hours to defeat Croatian Ivan Dodig 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 to enter the fourth round.

"I think I played a correct match today. I am happy with 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 against a player who came to this tournament winning against tough opponents like Davydenko and Verdasco," said Nadal after his match Saturday, reports Xinhua.

The 27-year-old Spaniard missed the 2012 US Open because of a knee injury but took home nine ATP titles in the single year, the best among all male players. The owner of 12 Grand Slam titles kept winning to claim titles at Cincinnati and Montreal, entering the US Open with 10-0 record in hand which now is 13-0.

"When you are playing well, you have the chance to play more aggressive. Nothing special, just trying to adjust small things to be a better player, as I have done all my career," said Nadal about his perfect run.

Nadal will next face the winner between John Isner and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
