A press release from the Lokayukta said that Section 22(1) of the Karnataka Lokayukta Act, 1984, mandates that every public servant mentioned in sub section (1) of Section 7 other than a government servant, should submit before June 30 every year a statement of his/her assets and liabilities and those of family members.

Those who do not file the statements within the prescribed date are given two more months to comply. This period ended on August 30. According to sources in the Lokayukta, the list of defaulters will now be sent to the Governor, H R Bhardwaj, who will take action as he deems fit.

Though the government has given Rs 20 lakh compensation per acre, it has not yet provided all documents in this regard.
