Man dies in hit-and-run accident

Two men were killed in separate accidents in the City on Sunday night.

In a hit-and-run incident, B G Babu, 32, was mowed down by a speeding vehicle while he was crossing Old Madras Road near Vinayaka Jewellers.

Babu, a resident of KR Puram, suffered severe head injuries and was killed on the spot. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot. Police said Babu was in an inebriated condition when the accident occurred. KR Puram traffic police have registered a case.
A biker was killed after he rammed his two-wheeler into the road median near Dairy Circle, Yelahanka Satellite Town on Sunday night.

Chennabasappa, 31, a plumber, was returning home in heavy rains when the accident occurred. Suffering severe head injuries, he was rushed to a nearby private hospital but declared dead on arrival.

A native of Yadgir district, he lived in Chikkabommasandra. Yelahanka Traffic police have registered a case.

Murder case cracked

The South Division police have cracked a murder case, days after it was reported and have arrested two people.

Arul, 26, an auto driver and a resident of BTM Layout II Stage, was stabbed and bludgeoned to death in JP Nagar last Wednesday. Police have arrested Arul’s estranged wife Prameela, 28, and her paramour, Sateesh, 26.

Police said that Prameela had an extramarital affair with Arul’s friend Sateesh. This led to discord between the couple and led to Prameela deserting her husband and returning to her parent’s house four months ago .

Police said that Sateesh called Arul on his mobile and asked him to meet him in JP Nagar on Wednesday night. When Arul arrived, Sateesh stabbed him in the abdomen and in the neck. He also bludgeoned him to death with a rock, police said.

After the murder, Prameela and Sateesh fled to Kollegala. The two were arrested near Attibele on Sunday night, when they returned .to the City. Police have seized a scooter and a knife used in the murder.
