The Koramangala Infrastructure Task Force has rejected the BBMP's plan for an underpass and advocated an integrated flyover on Hosur Lashkar Road near Bosch India Limited and Prestige Acropolis.

Submitting an action plan to the BBMP Chief Engineer (Major Roads) S Somashekhar, a delegation of the task force said the proposed underpass on the National Highway will lead to the destruction of road capacity, hamper underground utilities, risks of underpass flooding and future acquisition of land to broaden the slip roads will increase cost in the long run.

They have suggested that a flyover from Adugodi to Silk Board Junction will be more suitable as it will add capacity to the road instead of subtracting from it. It will facilitate greater use of at-grade space for bus traffic and pedestrian crossings. The suggested grade separator will avoid potential flooding issues and problems of underground utility shifting.

Talking to Deccan Herald, a senior Palike officer said a proposal has been submitted and its feasibility will be checked. “In the long run, flyover will be more suitable but we have to consider its cost-effectiveness and issues related to land acquisition. We will also have to consider fund requirement,” said the officer.
