Last Updated 05 September 2013, 21:33 IST

MLAs who have been elected to the Legislative Assembly for first time can hope to get free iPads.

Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa said that like their predecessors, the newly elected MLAs are likely to get iPads. He said a two-day programme has been designed to train the 80 newly elected MLAs in parliamentarian skills.

Training sessions will be held on September 27 and 28 at the conference hall of the Vidhana Soudha. The State Legislature had distributed iPads to the MLAs in the 13th Assembly too.

Thimmappa said new MLAs need training to actively and meaningfully take part in the Assembly discussions. The resources persons will be retired chief secretary B K Bhattacharya, former chairman B L Shankar, former speaker and MLA Ramesh Kumar and M C Nanaiah, MLC.
