Minor girl found dead; rape alleged

A 16-year-old girl was found dead, hanging from a tree in Upanayakanahalli village of the taluk on Saturday.

The father of the girl has lodged a complaint alleging that his daughter was raped and murdered.

The incident is said to have occurred when the girl went to her farmland to fertilise crops. The victim was a class nine student. The Town police visited the spot and the body was shifted to the government hospital for a ostmortem.
